Other Information

Toilets

There are staff toilets and showers just past the cafeteria, and around the corner towards ISS - access is keypad code 1357.

The nearest public toilets are towards Level 1 East, past the lifts.

Tea and Coffee

Hot water is available from the meeting room near the cafeteria (when available) – currently the sign on the door says “Staff Facilities are available 10am-11.30am and 1.30pm-3pm”.

Photocopier

A photocopier/scanner is available in the mail room.  Bring own A4 paper.  Scan to email is also possible (check Junk Inbox). - NA

AH Emergency Procedures

Emergency Procedures and Security

The emergency Evacuation Plan map is located:

  • in the hallway of the Library / Eastern Health Clinical School area (outside Tutorial Room 1)
  • above the phone in the Library area
  • in the Computer Room

The Emergency Codes notice is located:

  • beside the emergency Evacuation Plan map (as above)
  • above the phone in the Library area.

The Fire Extinguisher (powder) is located beneath the emergency Evacuation Plan map and Emergency Codes notice in the hallway of the Library / Eastern Health Clinical School.

The Bomb Threat notice is beside the phone in the Library area.

The assembly point for people in the Library and the Clinical School is the courtyard, located across the main hall and through the automatic doors which will be kept open in an emergency. If necessary, people will be moved from the courtyard through the opposite exit to the street area.

The Green Exit signs in the Library / Clinical School hallway is lighted and visible.

A Security Waste bin is located in the hallway of the Library / Eastern Health Clinical School area.

All library staff have copies of the Personal Emergency tags for Angliss.

No duress alarms are available in the Library or the Clinical School area.

Angliss Opening & Closing Procedure

Eastern Health Library Service - Angliss Hospital

Opening Procedures

  • Angliss Hospital library is usually staffed 1 to 2 days per week.
  • Door to the Eastern Health Clinical School area should be automatically un-locked at 0730 by Infrastructure/Security (if not, put in a Beims)
  • Turn on lights in the library and computer area.
  • Take out keyboard and mouse from the right locked drawer and connect to Library computer.
  • Load paper in the Library’s printer (note that printer is only connected to Library’s computer.  It is not a shared printer.)
  • Check that the Eastern Health and Monash University computers are turned on and working in the Computer/Quiet Study Area.
  • Tidy the areas if necessary.
  • Change dates on the desk calendar.
  • Collect mail from the library pigeonhole in the mail room near Level 1 West.
  • All journals are processed at BHH and department journals are sent direct to the departments from there.
  • The journals held in the library are first displayed in the stand. On a regular basis move the older issues to the boxes on the journal shelves.
  • Change displays in computer room, including news clippings and vendor information.

Closing Procedures

  • Tidy the computer room
  • Shut down the Library computer (leave other computers on) and lock away keyboard and mouse. 
  • Remove paper from the printer and return to drawer.
  • Lock the drawers.
  • Turn off the Library light.
  • The door to the EH Clinical School locks at 18.00 and all staff should have swipe access. This door should be left closed for occupational health and safety reasons.
