Option for students / university researchers / EH staff with university affiliations: The paid version of EndNote is available through an educational institution licence (eg. EH Staff with an university affiliation will be able to download and install EndNote desktop (EndNote X9 or 20 from their university library) to own computers. For all users with paid version of EndNote access & Microsoft Word: The Cite While You Write (CWYW) feature for Microsoft Word is built-in. (No need for further installation of plug-in).
For all users using free EndNote Basic: A CWYW plug-in is required. (This plug-in works best for Chrome and Edge but does not work for Firefox in Windows OS)
For macOS users using Pages as word processor: A plug-in is requested. (see video instructions).
